In 1995 Don and Angie Branstetter combined their professional skills to create a computer support company, Marathon Computers. The name came from Don’s combined talent as a standout area marathoner and a degreed mechanical engineer who at the time was designing heating components for Waterfurnace International and introducing computers into their manufacturing process. Starting in the late 80’s Don was building PCs to customer specifications and was the only IT leader on staff at Waterfurnace.
Angie came out of GTE and their corporate marketing management program and saw a way to promote the kind of computer work Don had begun to do off hours for many of Waterfurnace’s stakeholders and employees. The two shared an entrepreneurial spirit and a committed work ethic. Since they both worked full time for area employers they built their small computer support company around lunch breaks, evenings and weekends.
Don’s reputation for quality work and attention to detail spread and the side business Don and Angie had developed grew to become Marathon Technology Group, an IT support company that no longer builds made-to-order PCs but provides comprehensive outsourced IT support for small to medium sized companies across an array of disciplines in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.
In 2010 Marathon Technology Group began to provide database development and website development to the list of technical services they offered.
Today, in addition to certified and degreed IT support professionals, Marathon Technology Group has dedicated database development personnel, web development personnel, and a graphic artist who, under Angie’s business development leadership, offer comprehensive customized business applications, digital marketing plans, social media planning, SEO management and development, and graphic design services in addition to outsourced IT services.
Don and Angie Branstetter have come full circle in blending their individual expertise into a growing business ready and able to help grow yours!
